YOU ASKED. WE LISTENED.

Backed on Kickstarter. Now built for your doorstep.

850PETFusion 2.0 backers
$53,905Pledged on Kickstarter

PETFusion 2.0’s digital DIY project was backed by 850 makers who pledged $53,905 on Kickstarter. Then came the request: could we deliver a finished machine? This separate assembled-machine offer is our response. We handle the machine assembly in our workshop and deliver it to your doorstep, so you can focus on turning suitable bottles into printing material.

The PETFusion 2.0 campaign was for digital DIY files and build guidance. This new offer is a physical machine with the design shown here; it does not include PETFusion 2.0’s built-in welder or colorizer.

LESS BUILDING. MORE MAKING.

A practical next step for a bottle-filled recycling bin.

01

Skip the machine assembly

No machine parts to print, electronics to source or frame to build. We assemble the machine for you; your first task is preparing a bottle and starting the strip.

02

Put an existing material to work

Use suitable bottles you already have for compatible printing projects. Every usable gram gives that material another purpose and can replace some newly purchased filament.

03

One connected process

The cutter and heated forming block sit in the same material path. After initial threading, the powered spool pulls the strip through both and winds the filament.

04

Make small, useful things

Experiment with plant labels, desk organizers, decorative prints and prototypes once you have tuned your recycled material and printer.

A CLOSER LOOK

Cut, feed and wind in one continuous process.

The built-in cutter, heated forming block and powered take-up spool work together. Start a strip and thread it through; the spool’s pull then draws more material from the prepared bottle through the cutter and forming block.

Built-in bottle-strip cutter
Start the strip on a prepared PET bottle. Once threaded, the spool’s pull keeps drawing the bottle through the cutter to make the next length of strip.
Heated forming block
The strip feeds directly from the cutter into the heated forming block, where it is shaped into filament.
Powered take-up spool
The geared spool provides the pull for cutting and feeding, then winds the formed filament as the process continues.
Controls close at hand
A front display and control knob keep setup within reach.

FROM BOTTLE TO FILAMENT

Prepare. Thread. Let the spool do the pulling.

01

Prepare your PET bottle

Choose a suitable PET bottle. Remove its cap and label, clean and dry it, and prepare the bottle for the cutter as shown in the operating guide.

02

Start and thread the strip

Use the built-in cutter to start a strip. With the machine set up and heated, thread the starter strip through the forming block and secure it to the take-up spool.

03

Cut, form and wind

Start the powered spool. Its pull draws the prepared bottle through the cutter, feeds the strip through the heated forming block and winds the resulting filament in one continuous process.

04

Prepare for your next print

Check the filament, dry it as needed and tune a compatible 3D printer for your recycled PET.

Bottle preparation and initial threading are manual. Once set up, the powered spool keeps the cutting-and-feeding process moving. Stay with the machine during operation and follow the setup, temperature and power-supply instructions.

WATCH THE PROCESS

A bottle has another project in it.

Follow the material path: prepared bottle, built-in cutter, heated forming block and powered take-up spool. Once threaded, the spool supplies the pull for continued cutting, forming and winding.

WHAT CAN YOUR BOTTLES BECOME?

Small bottles. Useful amounts of material.

1 L bottle12–15 g

Estimated filament per suitable bottle

2 L bottle25–30 g

Estimated filament per suitable bottle

Planning estimates from our PETFusion 2.0 campaign FAQ, not a measured guarantee for this assembled model. Bottle weight, usable wall area, strip preparation and process losses change the result. Bottle capacity alone does not determine yield.

Read the yield estimate source ↗

Explore your potential material savings

Estimated material per month2.17–2.60 kg
Potential gross material value$54–$65 USD

Uses 4.33 weeks per month and the yield ranges above. Gross value assumes the output can replace filament you would otherwise buy. It excludes electricity, drying, waste, time and the machine cost. This is an illustration, not a payback promise.

Examples of clear and colored PET strands

WHY BOTTLE PET?

Reuse the material. Keep making.

PET bottles are a readily available source of thermoplastic. Reusing suitable, clean bottles lets you explore their clear or colored material in another form, without buying feedstock for each experiment.

Bottle PET is not PETG. Drying, temperature, flow and diameter consistency matter. Use a compatible printer and tune it for your output. Reuse still consumes energy; we do not claim zero waste or a measured carbon reduction.

We assemble it. You make it yours.

Each machine is assembled in our workshop before it is packed for delivery. Connect the correct power supply, prepare a suitable bottle, warm up the machine and thread the starter strip. The powered spool then drives the cutting-and-feeding process while you monitor it.

BEFORE YOU PREORDER

A few useful details.

Looking for a DIY build instead?
Explore the PETFusion 2.0 digital pack

Am I buying a machine or digital files?

You are preordering a fully assembled physical machine. Our original PETFusion 2.0 offer was a digital DIY pack. This assembled machine uses the design shown here and does not include PETFusion 2.0’s welder or colorizer.

Can I use any plastic waste?

This machine is intended for suitable PET bottle strips. It is not a shredder for mixed plastics or failed prints.

Does it cut and feed the bottle automatically?

After you prepare a suitable bottle, start the strip and thread it through the heated forming block onto the take-up spool, the powered spool provides the pull that continues cutting, feeding and winding. The machine arrives fully assembled, but bottle preparation, initial threading and supervision are still required.

When will deliveries begin?

Deliveries start October 19, 2026. Your arrival date will depend on your destination. This is a preorder, not immediate-dispatch stock.

What is the preorder price?

The preorder price is $249 USD. The regular launch price is $349 USD, giving preorder customers a $100 saving. Shipping is included and duties are paid.

Will it work with my 3D printer?

The process is intended to make nominal 1.75 mm PET filament. Your printer must support PET printing temperatures and the output you produce. PET is not PETG; check drying, flow and filament consistency before a longer print.

YOUR NEXT WORKBENCH PROJECT
